Program Facilitator, EducationWorks
Position Description
The Program Facilitator (PF) is a part time AmeriCorps position primarily serving youth in grades K‐8th. The PF serves on a school team and focuses on the coordination and implementation of project based learning for the Out of School Time/After School program. The PF reports to the Site Coordinator.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and implement project-based learning and enrichment activities during after school hours, M-F; some evenings and weekend days required
2. Prepare thematic materials and lesson plans for project based activities
3. Maintain required records for project-based learning and funder reports
4. Support team planning and implementation of project-based learning through on-site coaching and assessment of youths’ academic skills
5. Provide feedback to team members and site coordinator on the progress and challenges of activities
6. Coordinate activities of the team and ensure implementation with youth groups
7. Support youths’ understanding of materials and activities
8. Prepare, maintain inventory, and distribute materials and supplies
9. Develop positive relationships with youth, parents, team members, and EW staff
10. Attend all required trainings and workshops
Qualifications
1. Minimum Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, family studies, elementary education or the human services field
2. Experience working with and instructing youth in an urban, educational setting
3. Knowledge of child development
4. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
5. Computer literate
6. Program coordination experience and skills including flexibility, professionalism, creativity, organization, follow-up, work as an effective team member
7. PA State Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI Clearances; EducationWorks will pay for processing fees
