Learn from your community! Give to your community! Belong to your community! Project SHINE is a national service organization at Temple University Intergenerational Center. AmeriCorps members at SHINE promote a healthy community and strengthen social connections by tutoring English, health literacy, healthy workshops and recreational activities. AmeriCorps members serve 9-10 hours per week and attend monthly trainings. Members receive a $1,500 stipend and an optional $1,132 educational award. Bilingual, bi cultural, retired individuals and those with health and/or ESL experience or working towards a career in health and/or ESL are in high demand.
