Administrative Assistant, Pace Center
Position Summary:
The Pace Center is dedicated to education, innovation, and excellence in public service. As the campus advocate for civic engagement, it supports Princeton University?s commitment to be ?in the nation?s service and in the service of all nations,? and facilitates learning, teaching, and action in the public interest. It serves all members of the Princeton community. The Pace Center collaborates with colleagues on- and off-campus to envision, articulate, organize, and implement civic engagement initiatives. As the central resource for information on community, regional, national, and international public service programs, Pace partners with new and existing campus groups to identify, improve, and sustain opportunities for civic engagement. By strengthening relationships and identifying resources, it joins with administrative and academic centers to strengthen and expand Princeton?s civic engagement and educational outreach opportunities.
The Administrative Assistant will provide the skills and expertise necessary to keep the Center productive and efficient. She/he will manage financial issues, maintain website, update the Civic Engagement Network database, generate the weekly electronic newsletter, respond to requests for information, coordinate calendars (public and private), and assist in program planning. The administrative assistant will act as office manager and primary receptionist, manage files, support event planning, manage use of the vehicle, handle telecommunications and computer issues, and perform basic office tasks. In addition, the Administrative Assistant will work with the Director and Center staff to promote civic engagement at Princeton, and will be an advocate for public service.
Essential Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of professionalism and initiative, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and strict attention to detail. She/he must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects/tasks at a time, and prioritize accordingly, and must make sound decisions based on the policies and procedures of the Center. Required are excellent word processing, spreadsheet preparation, proofreading, data and financial management skills. The successful candidate must be adept with technology and software, including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Access, and Powerpoint, as well as Princeton University systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Princeton University and the local area (Princeton, Trenton, and the region) is highly preferred.
Education Required:
Bachelor?s degree strongly preferred
