Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Foundation Youth Board Welcomes Proposals
The Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Foundation Youth Board invites eligible nonprofit organizations to submit grant proposals for the spring 2021 grant cycle. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to one or more organizations doing work to combat hate, particularly anti-Semitism, racism, and domestic violence.
Established in 2019, the Youth Board gives participants an opportunity to learn about concepts of Jewish philanthropy, explore Jewish values, dive into grantmaking, and review and analyze grant proposals during a series of online board meetings over several months. There are two Kaplun Foundation Youth Boards — one for high school students and one for middle school students.
Each youth board will determine how to distribute $5,000 of the foundation’s funds to one or more nonprofit organizations. The high school level board issues a request for proposals as part of its program. The middle school level board does not accept proposals. For the second year in a row, the foundation is partnering with the Jewish Teen Funders Network, which developed the curriculum and is facilitating the program.
Nonprofits are encouraged to apply by the February 4 deadline.
For more information and/or the online Youth Board grant proposal submission form, see the Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Foundation website.
Deadline: February 4, 2021
