Promoting Public Safety: A Series of Case Studies
LISC’s Community Safety Initiative (CSI), a program that builds formal, long-term partnerships to reduce persistent crime, disorder, and fear in order to revitalize distressed neighborhoods, created a handbook to promote understanding of local public safety programming. In addition to partner profiles and general information, the guidebook documents a series of case studies to highlight innovative, and at times unconventional, strategies for addressing different safety issues. Topics covered include: Chronic Public Inebriation; Links between Violence and Graffiti; and Combating Crime in Public Parks. To download the community safety handbook, visit the LISC Online Resource Library.
