Fairmount Ventures is a Philadelphia-based consulting firm founded in 1992 that has served over 300 nonprofit, public sector and philanthropic organizations. The majority of clients are in the greater Philadelphia region. Fairmount provides guidance that helps its clients answer critical “What’s next?” questions and then develop and execute practical, strategic approaches. Core service areas are: strategic planning, fundraising (feasibility assessment, planning, implementation), business planning, board development, mergers and affiliations, and program design and assessment.

The position
This mid-level position plays a key role in helping meet the resource development needs of Fairmount’s nonprofit clients. Project Managers are responsible for a range of writing-intensive project management activities focused on both fundraising planning and execution, and spanning all forms of resource development (individuals, foundations, corporations, and government).

Qualifications
•    3-5 years’ direct experience in development-related writing, research, design and strategy
•    Deep understanding of both institutional philanthropy and individual donor solicitation
•    Familiarity with outreach communications, social media, and emerging online platforms in support of fundraising strongly preferred
•    Excellent research, analytical, writing and organizational skills
•    Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
•    Experience overseeing and mentoring junior staff
•    Ability to translate abstract concepts into cogent written products
•    Portfolio of formal written materials (grant proposals, plans, other written and electronic documents)

Compensation:
Starting salary range $40,000-$42,000, commensurate with experience. Health benefits. 401(k) plan.
