PROJECT MANAGER
ECONOMY LEAGUE OF GREATER PHILADELPHIA
The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to ensuring the region’s prosperity through analysis and action. We bring together established and emerging leaders to understand the region’s challenges and work toward innovative solutions. The Economy League makes an impact on the Greater Philadelphia region in three ways – by developing strategies for regional competitiveness, by engaging and convening regional leaders, and by working with regional civic and governmental organizations on research projects and initiatives.
Economy League investors are leading businesses, universities, health care institutions, and individuals in the region who understand how innovative strategies, sound public policies and effective governance support the region’s economic competitiveness. Additional funding for Economy League projects and initiatives comes from foundations, civic organizations, and state and local governments.
POSITION SUMMARY
Project Managers are key members of the Economy League’s project and initiative teams. They report to the Deputy Director, manage both research projects and strategic initiatives, and work collaboratively with other project team members. The position involves project management and administrative coordination, developing and executing the organization’s project and analytical activities, and managing the interface with clients and civic partners. Project Managers manage project associates, interns, and other team members as determined by project needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Developing and conducting research and analysis for Economy League projects and initiatives
· Managing and facilitating working groups, project teams or other groups as needed
· Serving as primary contact with clients and partners to ensure that projects are on track, on time, and on budget
· Drafting, editing, and designing written materials including research reports, executive summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and talking points
· Working with Economy League senior management and Board members to develop ideas and proposals for new research
· Working to ensure that project information and analysis is effectively communicated to intended audiences
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate should have a Masters or Bachelors degree in economics, public policy, planning, political science or related field and at least three years of research, consulting and project management experience. She or he also should possess the following skills and qualities:
· Excellent oral and written communication abilities
· Highly detail-oriented
· Ability to synthesize and succinctly present large amounts of information in clear fashion
· Creativity and resourcefulness in the face of complex/complicated tasks
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Comfort and self-discipline working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
· Ability to work on more than one project at a time
· High standards for quality and ethics
· Commitment to strengthening Greater Philadelphia
· Natural curiosity
· Sense of humor
JOB TYPE AND COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package (health, dental, vision, 403b).
