Job Description
Project Director, Youth Empowerment Program. Part-time, 17.5 hours/week.
Funded by the Blueprints III grant, Office of Minority Health.
• Serves as point of contact for the granting agency, Office of Minority Health.
• Serves as liaison between Swarthmore College administrative staff and project team at other locations.
• Meets with entire YEP team monthly at minimum.
• Assists Administrative Director at Crozer-Chester Medical Center with monitoring compliance and timetable for all aspects of the project (budget, evaluation, programming).
• Maintains on-going communication with Administrative Director at CCMC to ensure overall program is operating smoothly and according to plan.
• Recruits, orients, trains, and supervises Swarthmore College students who will be mentors and tutors to youth participants in the program.
• Meets with Swarthmore students on set schedule.
• Creates and disseminates schedule and schedule updates to students.
• Monitors all Swarthmore campus-based activities, assisting as needed.
• Ensures all documentation required for process and outcome evaluation is complete for OMH on a timely basis. Coordinates updated content for program website.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Non-exempt, benefits-eligible position. Salary expense calculations are: $23/hour x 17.5 hours/week x 52 weeks per year = $20,930 per year. Benefits estimated at $15,225 in year 1. Benefits and salary to be paid by the grant. (Note: this position has been restructured; it was previously defined as a “consultant” in the earlier OMH grant).
Qualifications:
Ability to work with diverse and at-risk populations
Ability to work with both youth and college-age students
Ability to work with varied stakeholders in multiple organizations and communities
Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively
Excellent oral presentation skills
Excellent writing skills
Proficient technology skills (social media, Excel, Microsoft Office, Print Shop)
Ability to work evenings and weekends required
At least two years of demonstrated work experience with youth and college-aged students preferred
Previous experience working on a granted-funded project preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Social Services-related field preferred
