Project Coordinator, Pace Center
Position Summary:
The Pace Center is dedicated to education, innovation, and excellence in public service. As the campus advocate for civic engagement, it supports Princeton University?s commitment to be ?in the nation?s service and in the service of all nations,? and facilitates learning, teaching, and action in the public interest. It serves all members of the Princeton community. The Pace Center collaborates with colleagues on- and off-campus to envision, articulate, organize, and implement civic engagement initiatives. As the central resource for information on community, regional, national, and international public service programs, Pace partners with new and existing campus groups to identify, improve, and sustain opportunities for civic engagement. By strengthening relationships and identifying resources, it joins with administrative and academic centers to strengthen and expand Princeton?s civic engagement and educational outreach opportunities.
The Program Coordinator will create, coordinate, and administer civic engagement co-curricular programs for undergraduate and graduate students. This includes being the primary liaison to the residential colleges, eating clubs, Grad College, student government, and organized student groups, and working with them to develop programs and initiatives that reflect the mission of the Center. Functions include organization, outreach, publicity, evaluation, and assessment.
The Program Coordinator will also oversee Center programs including civic engagement break trips, thematic programming, and special one-time projects. This involves working with colleagues across campus and in the community to develop high-quality programs, and managing the administrative aspects (budget, compliance, and logistics).
In addition, the Program Coordinator will work with the Director and Center staff to promote civic engagement at Princeton, and will be an advocate for public service.
Essential Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, strict attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a high degree of professionalism and initiative. She/he must be able to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage several simultaneous projects with overlapping deadlines. At least 1 to 2 years of experience working with university students and administrators is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Princeton University and the local area (Princeton, Trenton, and the region) is highly preferred.
