Project-Based Learning Enrichment Opportunities for Social Studies and Science High School Teachers – Sep 30

In partnership with the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center, Philadelphia Education Fund (PEF) is seeking South and West Philadelphia high school teachers interested project-based learning in either social students or science. We are offering two concurrent professional development workshops on Saturday, September 30.
Social Studies: In the We, The People Civic Education Program, law students support teachers to engage their students in civic education.
Science: The George Washington Carver Science Fair is a city-wide science competition that provides the opportunity for students to gain enriched learning through scientific inquiry.
Eligible Schools: West Philadelphia, Sayer, Boys Latin, Motivation, Bartrum, Overbrook, SLA @ Beeber, Robeson, Mastery at Hardy Williams, Belmont Charter, West Catholic, KIPP DuBois, Parkway West’ Workshop School, School of the Future
These two workshops will be held simultaneously at Motivation High School from 8:30am-1:30pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants will receive relevant content and teaching strategies, day-of and ongoing support, program materials, a stipend, and Act 48 credits.
