Lisle International invites applications for programs promoting intercultural communication
Lisle International promotes grassroots educational initiatives that purposefully foster intercultural understanding and leadership, tolerance, youth engagement, and the development of improved relations among communities in conflict.
Lisle invites applications for its Global Seed Grants program, which will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of innovative projects that advance intercultural communication and shared learning. Projects must promote intercultural engagement and communication as a core goal achieved through intentional program components. Successful projects are most often innovative and collaborative, centralize intercultural interaction, work toward resolving conflicts, and promote community-building. Projects may seek to bridge a variety of community divides, including ethnic, cultural, religious, racial, or gender perspectives, anywhere in the world.
In keeping with the spirit of “seed grant,” Lisle supports new projects with growth potential rather than ongoing or well-funded programs. Lisle also prefers to be a significant donor on well-defined intercultural projects proposed by small and young organizations. Between three and eight grants are awarded each year to projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Projects worldwide are eligible. United States nonprofit 501(c)(3) status is not necessary. Local organizational certification is welcome, but not required.
Lisle uses a two-phase application process. Requests to apply are due August 1, 2024, with completed phase-two application forms due September 1, 2024.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Lisle International website.
Deadline: August 1, 2024 (Request to apply)
