Program Overview:

University City District’s West Philadelphia Skills Initiative is a workforce development intermediary whose dual mission is to support the human capital needs of University City’s institutional employers and to connect West Philadelphians to career and advancement opportunities in their own community.

Job Overview:

Plans, organizes and/or coordinates the activities of youth and young adult workforce development projects. May conduct training and/or development programming for project participants.

Duties:

Monitor, evaluate and record workforce development program activities and effectiveness.
Evaluates the work of subordinate staff and/or contractors to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
May provide direct service and support to clients; within a given area of expertise (e.g., provide financial literacy coaching).
Establish and maintain relationship with other agencies and organizations in the community to build relationships and collaborative opportunities.
Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by the WPSI Director and/or the Executive Director
Participate in the determination of organizational policies regarding such issues as participant eligibility, program requirements, design and benefits.
Prepare and maintain records and reports for workforce development programs. Manage the applicant tracking system.
Research and analyze participant or community needs to determine program direction and goals.

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Program Administration and Management expertise, Excellent Customer Services Skills, Creative Decision Maker, Collaborative Management Style,
Excellent Oral and Written Communications Skills; Self-Starter.
