Program Manager, Sunday Suppers

We are seeking a dynamic Program Manager with a background in community engagement and program implementation in low income neighborhoods. Sunday Suppers is a unique community based program that supports families to live healthier lives. Using the family meal, hands-on cooking lessons, community gardening and exercise, families make changes that improve their health and well-being. Our program is currently located in Kensington and we plan to expand to the Mantua area in the fall. Full and part-time positions available.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
 Connects and collaborates with program partners, organizations and community to maximize recruitment and visibility
 Develops and carries out recruitment and retention plans to maximize attendance.
 Implements Sunday Suppers programs which are engaging and responsive to the needs of participants.
 Recruits and supervises volunteers
 Maximizes family participation in healthy food access programs, and other opportunities that promote our mission.
 Regularly collects information through focus groups and surveys in order to measure change and assess needs
 Ensures that weekly value-added programming is relevant and engaging
 Develops volunteer opportunities for participants

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
 Comfort working with diverse people and programs
 Ability to identify challenges and recommend solutions
 Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do what it takes to get the job done.
 Leadership ability a must with experience in public speaking.
 Experience in nutrition, healthy eating and gardening a plus
 Ability to work independently critical
 Attention to detail, resourceful and flexible
 Must have all required state and federal clearances for working with children
 Must have a car, valid driver’s license and insurance.
 Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
 Must have passion for nutrition and improving health and be able to connect with children and adults

The PM will work directly in the community, with a smaller portion of time spent in the Sunday Suppers office.
