Job description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ultimate goal of the Program Manager for Employment Services is to improve the self-sufficiency, earned income and economic well-being of individuals who have histories of homelessness or are at risk of homelessness due to extremely low incomes. This is achieved, in part, through developing and administering programs that create jobs, work/education experiences, and services that assist individuals in seeking, obtaining and maintaining employment and educational outcomes.
JOB DUTIES:
- Effectively manage the employment services program providing employment placement and training opportunities for residents and participants of Project HOME services.
- Develop internship and job placement opportunities within Project HOME and the general Philadelphia business community.
- Review, develop, and update as needed program guidelines, procedures and practices related to each grant or service to promote optimal employment and educational outcomes.
- Implement and manage supported employment, an evidenced based practice, and ensure program meets fidelity guidelines.
- Assist in the evaluation of each grant and service to ensure efficacy and effectiveness in attaining optimal employment and educational outcomes.
- Provide supervision and direction to the Employment Specialists who function as an integrated part of the residential and housing programs to assist residents and alumni choose, get and keep employment.
- Act as liaison between Residential program and the Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Lab to maximize utilization of this resource.
- Work as part of a leadership team with Directors of Residential Services to promote optimum employment and educational outcomes for PH residents and alumni in line with the Strategic Plan.
- Participate in orientation for all new residents to enhance the culture of employment.
- Meet regularly with Project HOME residents and staff to assess employment and educational needs.
- Manage the Art Program providing opportunities for residents to produce art work for sale.
- Work with the manager for social enterprises toward providing effective employment opportunities for residents including but not limited to developing workshops to support employment skills.
