Delaware Valley Earth Force is an affiliate of Earth Force, Inc., a national non-profit environmental education organization. Our offices are located at 100 Greenwood Avenue, Wyncote (directly across from the Jenkintown SEPTA station). Our mission is to engage young people as active citizens who improve the environment and their communities. Earth Force programs provide educators and the young people they teach with the civic action skills, resources and knowledge they need to implement community service projects that result in sustainable change. Position: Program Manager
Position reports to: Executive Director
Job Purpose Summary:
We looking for a manager and team player who can inspire, manage, lead and encourage others. Master?s in education or other related degree program or equivalent relevant work experience is desired. Five or more years of experience are required in an education, non-profit setting or related experience with demonstrated skills in program development, training, building relationships and project management are required. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and be comfortable speaking in front of large audiences. Required to pass a background check and must have valid PA driver?s license.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Position:
? Direct the planning and implementation of Earth Force professional development training and teacher support events.
? Oversee design and assessment of training, curriculum, activities, support materials, and facilitation of programs by program staff.
? Identify and develop new sites and opportunities to grow and enhance programs.
? Manage the recruitment, selection and supervision of teachers and sites.
? Develop an annual calendar of professional development offerings, trainings, institutes, etc., for educators, staff members and volunteers.
? Work collaboratively with program team and act as liaison between program team and executive director.
? Maintain ongoing contact with program participants to keep them motivated and ensure a quality experience for them, including site visits, calls and emails.
? Ensure program commitment to funders are met; possible interaction with and reporting to relevant funders.
? Cultivate strong working relationships with participating school districts, including superintendents and administrators.
? Represent Earth Force at conferences and meetings, including making public presentations to groups of educational professionals, adults and youth.
? Participate in national Earth Force teams for programs improvement and own professional development.
? Visit Earth Force classrooms to facilitate activities with young people (ages 8-18).
? Curriculum development and alignment of programs to local and state standards.
? Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Executive Director.

Experience/Skills/Abilities Desired
? Experience as a teacher, professional development trainer and project facilitator
? Proven track record in program management
? Experience in classroom integration, addressing academic standards, assessment
? Understanding of and experience in local environmental issues, service learning, environmental education and/or civic engagement.
? Demonstrated writing, communication and presentation skills
? Knowledge of community organizations and agencies
? Experience with program improvement and innovation
? Polished presentation, facilitation skills
? Ability to perform highly in entrepreneurial environment
? Competency in Microsoft Office, Access, e-mail, Internet
? Self-motivated and able to provide follow-through
? Leadership
? Innovative thinking
? Organized and detail oriented
? Work effectively both individually and in a team setting
? Comfortable in a challenging, fast-paced environment
? Collaborative, flexible approach to challenges
? Able to juggle multiple tasks

? Must have the ability to travel within the Philadelphia region in own vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed
