Program Director Position Description
SILOAM is a respected, twenty-year-old registered Pennsylvania nonprofit organization which focuses on Body, Mind, Spirit Wellness within the HIV/AIDS community. We assist men, women and children of all races, creeds and orientations, infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS to maximize their wellness by offering a continuum of support services that lead to deeper connections with their own selves, other people, the natural world and a greater power than themselves (however they understand this).
We are seeking a Program Director who is responsible for leading a team of health (mind, body and spirit) promotion specialists and counselors. This position is primarily responsible for the management and direction of program and service delivery of the organization, including direct services to clients, delivery of mind, body and spirit promotion programs and direct services that augment and support these programs. The director will be responsible for all facets of programming and service development and delivery, from proposal writing (in conjunction with the Development Director), through planning, budgeting, implementation, evaluation, report writing and maintaining statistical records.
The position requires exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and excellent computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of software. An understanding of the needs and issues faced by people living with HIV/AIDS is important, as well as experience working with nonprofits. In addition, the candidate should embrace and support a personal spirituality as part of all dealings with SILOAM’s clients, staff, benefactors, volunteers and expanded community. S/he must demonstrate a respect for diversity of race, gender, religion, education, sexual orientation, etc, and a willingness to interact in the midst of that diversity on behalf of SILOAM’s mission. Bi-Lingual (English-Spanish) skill is preferable.
