Program Director Healthier Together, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

The Program Director will ensure Healthier Together meets all key milestones, including reporting of performance metrics. Healthier Together is an innovative $25 million, 5-year initiative to improve the health of children in West and Southwest Philadelphia by addressing housing, trauma, hunger, and poverty. This role reports to the Senior Director of Community Engagement in the Office of Community Relations.
Job Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and program management leadership for Healthier Together, including coordination and collaboration across CHOP’s clinical, operational, and administrative functions
- Accountable for all program metrics and milestones across four Healthier Together focus areas – housing, trauma, hunger, and poverty
- Pursue civic partnerships that support the advancement of Healthier Together
- Develop and advance strategies that maximize the Hospital’s investments in Healthier Together
- Identify and leverage enterprise resources to advance data-driven strategies in the community that improve health outcomes for children and drive value for consumers and payers
- Lead Oversight Committee and Community Advisory Board to ensure appropriate stakeholder involvement
- Ensure the efficient use of Hospital resources needed to achieve the optimal return through the development of strategic and business plans for major Healthier Together initiatives
- Anticipate potential delays to projects and take appropriate mitigation steps
- Manage vendor relationships including contract creation and review, payments, performance, and issue resolution
Communication and Promotion
- Develop successful communication strategy to demonstrate and advance recognition of Healthier Together’s impact in partnership with the Marketing and Public Relations and Internal Communications departments
- Partner with CHOP Foundation to raise philanthropic funds to advance and scale up Healthier Together initiatives
- Represent the Hospital in community settings through speaking engagements and other appearances
- Build a national platform for Healthier Together that facilitates thought leadership and benchmarking opportunities
Administrative and Financial Responsibility
- Directly manage Healthier Together staff
- Serve as indirect supervisor (dotted line) for employees on multiple Healthier Together projects
- Oversee preparation of the annual budget information for review, forecast and approve expenditures
- Manage grants
Relationship and knowledge building
- Inform and solicit feedback from community about Healthier Together
- Develop and maintain relationships with key CHOP stakeholders, peers, government officials, and community-based organizations
- Identify and cultivate new potential collaborations to enhance Healthier Together’s impact
- Provides oversight of benchmarking opportunities that inform the use of best practices in related work
