Program Director, Food Moxie

Job Requirements: Food Moxie seeks an innovative and energetic Program Director (PD). They will supervise program staff and assist them in attaining organizational and programmatic goals; collaborate with community and program partners; and evaluate programs. The PD must be able to work independently, think creatively, solve problems, and make decisions in accordance with established policies, as well as be able to develop standards, analyze information, deal with complexity, and clearly report research results and program impact. They must have demonstrated success in non-profit program development or administration (minimum 2 years experience). The PD must have experience supervising staff and volunteers; developing and managing partnerships; and collecting/analyzing data. Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and organizational skills are required, including attention to detail and deadlines. Ideal candidate will have experience working with underserved populations and/or in alternative education. Desired, but not required, experience may include background in curriculum development, public health, nutrition, or farm/gardening.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to program staff, including supervision, development, and resource sharing
Ensure programs are delivered with the highest level of quality; are aligned with the organization’s mission and goals; produce strong quantitative and qualitative results; and meet or exceed grant outcomes
Demonstrate program impact and effectiveness as well as identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies in service delivery through on-going data collection and analysis
Implement relevant aspects of the FM strategic plan
Pursue relevant opportunities to partner with local, regional, and national organizations
Provide content for marketing collateral, including website and social media, to support and promote FM programs
Participate in creation of annual program budgets and monitor programmatic expenses
Coordinate and orient volunteers in concert with needs of program staff
Serve as staff liaison to the Program Committee of the FM Board of Directors
Assist the Executive Director where needed
Qualifications/Skills/Attributes:
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience; demonstrated success supervising staff, managing projects/programs, and working collaboratively with partners to improve programs and establish new programs.
Ability to manage time efficiently – with great attention to details/deadlines – while working on several projects simultaneously.
Comfortable with public speaking and able to represent Food Moxie at public events
Ideal candidate has established relationships with community and educational stakeholders that will benefit Food Moxie’s work and further our mission
Must be able to develop standards, analyze information, deal with complexity, & report results to stakeholders
Exceptional writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong computing skills, including complete command of MS Office Suite and Google Drive applications.
Proven management experience and strong leadership skills.
High energy, positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and comfort working in small, busy office.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times; has a high moral character.
Demonstrated understanding of Food Moxie’s values and strong desire to advance the mission.
Job Particulars: Full time (occasional evenings/weekends)
Salary range: $43,000-47,000; commensurate with experience
