Program Director, Fatherhood Empowerment Center

DESCRIPTION
The Program Director for the Fatherhood Empowerment Center (F.E.C.) will be primarily responsible for the administration and continuous development of the Fatherhood Initiatives Program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Coordinate, develop and expand the Fatherhood Empowerment Center (F.E.C.).
B. Facilitate and or provide classroom instruction for the F.E.C. as needed.
C. Facilitate and or provide classroom instruction and or mentoring sessions at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
D. Assist with creating employment opportunities through job skills training and by establishing relationships with potential employers through job development.
E. Assist clients with maintaining employment and job retention.
F. Assist clients in obtaining legal services as needed.
G. Insure that the confidential files for the F.E.C. are properly maintained and in compliance at all times.
H. Assist with marketing, promoting and recruiting for the Fatherhood /Ex-offenders Initiatives.
I. Provide Quality Assurance for the F.E.C.
J. Assist with identifying and obtaining additional resources for the F.E.C.
K. Provide monthly reports to the Deputy Director on a timely basis.
L. Establish and maintain partnerships with the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, Montgomery County Office of Domestic Relations, the District Attorney’s Office, Probation and Parole Departments to identify candidates for the program.
M. Actively Participate in the Participatory Defense Initiative Program.
N. Represent CACDOM at meetings and functions as needed.
O. Attend training workshops and conferences to enhance skills.
P. Provide assistance in the areas including but not limited to Emergency Utility Assistance, Housing Assistance and Family Development, etc.
Q. Assist in other program areas when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years’ experience in program management, development and coordination in a related field
2. Ability to work well with people from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
3. Possess good communication skills both oral and written.
4. Be creative, innovative and well organized.
5. Ability to travel, including overnight.
6. Experience in working with the ex-offender/re-entry population preferred.
7. Possess a valid Drivers’ License.
8. Ability to work with Windows XP, Microsoft Office and database software.
