Job Opening – Camp Dreamcatcher Program Director
Camp Dreamcatcher provides therapeutic and educational programs throughout the year to HIV/AIDS impacted youth.
Responsibilities Include:
Completion of HIV/AIDS & Diversity Training
Outreach to HIV/AIDS case managers and hospital personnel
Mailing and processing camper/counselor applications
Coordinating transportation to Camp Dreamcatcher events
Development and facilitation of Camp Dreamcatcher programs for campers and family members
Maintaining accurate, current camper records and documentation
Maintaining contact with case managers, hospital personnel and parents/guardians throughout the year
Attending weekly supervision meetings with Executive Director and Camp Dreamcatcher Board meetings
Coordinating camper/caregiver/counselor retreats and parties
Developing new therapeutic and educational programs and retreats
Facilitating group sessions
Actively recruit “new” children to Camp Dreamcatcher
Network and meet with case managers throughout the region
Attend Chester County HIV/AIDS service meetings
Represent Camp Dreamcatcher at speaking engagements and professional meetings
Development and organization of camp week forms (camp schedule/cabin assignments)
Participation in the camp week full-time
Attendance at meetings with village chiefs, camp counselors, CIT’s, medical and professional staff
Assist in the supervision of village chiefs, camp counselors, CIT’s, medical and professional staff
Assist Executive Director at Camp Dreamatcher programs/trainings
Assist in the preparation of the camp site and daily camp operation
Actively participate in fundraising events
Conduct counselor interviews
Requirements:
This is a full-time position and our office is in Kennett Square, PA 19348.
The Program Director must complete the Camp Dreamcatcher HIV/AIDS and Diversity Training and participate in the camp session, the weekend retreats, reunion events, support groups, workshops and HIV/AIDS education and outreach.
Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, education or related field.
At least two years of experience in program development, community outreach and working with youth.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel programs are important for this position.
