National Nursing Centers Consortium (http://www.nncc.us) is an umbrella organization representing 200 nurse-managed health centers nationwide. Nurse-managed health centers provide a full range of health services, including primary care, health promotion and disease prevention, primarily to low-income, underinsured and uninsured individuals. The mission of the NNCC is to strengthen the capacity, growth and development of nurse-managed health centers to provide quality health care services to vulnerable populations and to eliminate health disparities in underserved communities. The NNCC is an affiliate of the Public Health Management Corporation.
Students Run Philly Style, a program of the NNCC, transforms students’ lives through running and mentorship. We pair volunteer Running Leaders with teams of students to inspire them to push themselves further than they ever imagined. Their goal: the completion of a full or half marathon. The courage and effort required, the unfailing support of a caring mentor and the thrill of its ultimate achievements results in a student who knows anything is possible.
General Responsibilities:
• The Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the planning, implementation and data collection of Students Run Philly Style programs. • (S)He will serve as the primary point person for Students Run Philly Style teams, from the time of recruitment through completion of season, with specific attention paid to the successful transition into a new program structure that will be rolled out in 2014. • The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for coordination and successful execution of Students Run Philly Style program events. • This includes ensuring sufficient staffing, supplies and transportation for Students Run Philly Style teams among other things. • Events include, but are not limited to, race expos, races, pasta parties and special projects. • This position balances approximately 60% event planning and administration with 40% direct service to students and teams.
