Program Coordinator, Project SHINE, Center for Intergenerational Learning
The Center for Intergenerational Learning at Temple University in Philadelphia is seeking a self-directed, highly-motivated individual to coordinate Project SHINE in Philadelphia, including faculty recruitment and support; student recruitment, training and supervision; and monitoring tutoring sites.
Project SHINE is a national service-learning initiative in which college students tutor elderly immigrants and refugees in English, literacy and citizenship at senior centers, churches, temples, and community-based organizations in Philadelphia and in 13 other cities across the country.
Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with older immigrants and refugees, staff of community-based organizations, students and university faculty.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor?s degree in a related field and at least 1-3 years experience in one or more of the following areas: teaching ESL/adult literacy, working with immigrant/refugee communities, aging issues, non-profit management, service-learning, student leadership development, and database management.
