Job description
Maternity Care Coalition (MCC), a dynamic nonprofit, works to improve maternal and child health and wellbeing through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities.
MCC is seeking an experienced Program Coordinator to oversee all aspects of a prison-based program serving pregnant and newly parenting women during incarceration and for up to one year after release. Responsibilities include supervision of staff, preparation of weekly schedules and monthly reports, and relationships with prison officials, community agencies, and other interested individuals. The successful candidate will also serve a small caseload, facilitate psycho-educational groups, and will provide doula or labor support services on an on-call basis. Services are provided at the Riverside Correctional Facility and during home visits. Qualified candidates will have strong clinical skills; ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; and excellent communication, organizational and computer skills. Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field as well as experience in criminal justice, drug and alcohol, and/or child welfare systems preferred.
