Program Coordinator, Grandma’s Kids

Grandma’s Kids, a program of the Intergenerational Center at Temple University, is looking for a Program Coordinator.

The P/T Program Coordinator (PC) performs the day to day duties of maintaining the Family Support Unit at the Intergenerational Center/ Temple University of the College of Health Professions and Social Work, The unit is comprised of two programs Grandma’s Kids (GK) and Family Friends (FF). Grandma’s Kids is a kinship family after school program consisting of supportive academic services to children living with relative/ kin families other than their biological parents and/ or children who are of an “at-risk” status. The program provides behavioral health support, social work counseling, life -skills, academic support trips and events. The Family Friends program is a kinship/ relative program that offers respite and supportive services for children living with their grandparents/ relative caregivers and for parents who have special needs children. The program serves families via respite and family trips as well as supportive services, information and resources by program volunteers and program volunteer aides who work in conjunction with the families.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Answering calls and responding to questions and concerns relating to the Family Support Unit/ GK and FF programs
•    Facilitate recruitment, orientation, training and hiring of work study tutors for GK after-school program
•    Coordinate and attend monthly GK meetings for school site  coordinators
•    Support and attend monthly meetings with FF program manager for volunteers and program aide volunteers
•    Attend and support the Program Aide volunteers for FF program
•    Support Program Manager for FF on project related tasks as needed
•    Program Coordinator will report to unit director for supervision
•    Must maintain forms for both programs
•    Act as initial contact for GK program for day to day program matters.
•    Manage data entry and maintenance of GK and FF internal databases and DHS for FF and GK program database.
•    Facilitate outings, events and transportation for GK and FF
QUALIFICATIONS:
Program Coordinator must have Associates Degree, (Bachelor’s preferred) in a social sciences field, education field acceptable. Supervisory skills are a plus. PC must have the ability to operate a PC and navigate the latest version of Window Office Professional software program. The PC must have at least 5+ years’ experience working in a related field such as, social work, psychology, non-profit civic engagement or social services. The PC must possess skills of a person who is detailed oriented, creative and organized. The candidate must be able to multi-task. It is preferred that the PC has all three current clearances: (Under a year as of January, 2013 FBI, child abuse and criminal).
