As our nonprofit organization grows, The Friendship Circle is seeking full and part time program coordinators as well as internship opportunities. Room for growth in all positions. Minimum of two year interest a plus.
The Friendship Circle of the Philadelphia Region South serves Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware Counties and is a project of Chabad Lubavitch. The program’s main focus is to help families who have children with special needs by involving them in a full range of social and Jewish experiences. The Circle’s unique formula introduces teenage volunteers to the children and their families, and serves as an effective catalyst to foster leadership/volunteerism among teens.

Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational and communications skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work flexible hours as required to accommodate evening and Sunday events. Candidates should be comfortable with basic word processing, spreadsheet and internet applications. Preference is given to candidates with a strong interest in working with teens and/or children with special needs. Experience working within the Jewish community is a plus. Sensitivity to the special needs population and to all youth in general and a strong work ethic are a must.
Duties & Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop and perform new member recruitment
Manage and track volunteer hours
Communicate with parents of teen volunteers and/or parents of children with special needs
Coordinate and direct events such as weekly home visits, Sunday afternoon group activities, volunteer education trainings
Deliver Presentations to local youth groups and day schools to promote volunteering
Assist with general program development
Collaborate with other program coordinator
Build strong relationships with teen volunteers and leaders and help identify new leaders and volunteers from within and beyond the community as part of The Friendship Circle expansion
Location: Home office in South Philadelphia
