Program Assistant- 20 hours a week, flexible but consistent hours 4-5 days a week. Compensation varies based on experience and benefits. $9-11/hour.
Job Description:
This individual reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing administrative support to staff. These duties include but are not limited to administrative tasks such as database system maintenance, office supply purchasing, typing, filing, telephone duties, maintaining files, and calendars. In addition, this individual will assist in all program work including outreach, meeting coordination, preparing minutes, etc. Work site is a very friendly small office in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Program Assistant Job purpose: Handle all administrative tasks for a small nonprofit organization dedicated to improving working conditions for early education professionals. In this position, you’ll learn about all aspects of running a mission-based organization working to empower women serving low-income families in Philadelphia. Job duties: Answering and directing all incoming telephone calls. Tracking mail, and maintaining supplies Help to maintain database Help with outreach via phone, email and mail to our constituency Copying and filing Assisting with letters and document preparation Helping program staff achieve program goals with a variety of tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of High School Diploma, College degree preferred
Highly organized and the ability to prioritize workload
Flexible, with ability to work independently and as a team Strong written and verbal communication skills
Clerical or administrative experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
Skills in database management and publication a plus.
