The Art/Art Education Department of Tyler School of Art is seeking a Professor in Installation/Community Arts. We seek candidates who have a studio practice that engages issues of community arts and an internationally significant exhibition record. Faculty will promote efforts to provide cross-disciplinary community arts experiences for art students and will explore sites for arts installations and non-traditional arts projects on Temple’s campus and in the surrounding community.
The faculty of the department of Art and Art Education is dedicated to research, teaching excellence, and its mission to serve a diverse population. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of our undergraduate program of BA/BS students. Faculty will teach at least four courses per year in Community Arts and upper level studio courses. Other responsibilities may include serving on MFA committees, participating in projects, grant development for community arts, and other service to the department and the school.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an MFA or equivalent, an internationally significant exhibition record, a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence, and an ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, and administrators.
