Job Description
The Professional Development and Training Manager will be a key member of a small closely-knit team that will work in collaboration with public and private partners throughout the city to make a lasting difference for the benefit of the city’s and resident’s growth and prosperity.
The job of the Professional Development and Training Manager is done for the purpose of supporting capacity-building for adult education providers with the goal of improving program quality. Capacity building activities encompass anything that enables an organization (or team) to do its job better. It optimizes the ability of individuals, organizations, communities, and systems to achieve a positive impact on those they serve.
Working in coordination and collaboration with system-level partners such as the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Philadelphia Adult Literacy Alliance (PALA) as well as individual adult education providers across the city, this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of capacity building plans. Initial components include professional development and training focused on the financial, leadership, program quality, digital readiness, and technical needs of programs.
