Procurement Strategies: Creating an Anchored Local Economy in Newark

Kim Zeuli, Senior Vice President of ICIC (Initiative for a Competitive Inner City), and Lena Ferguson, Research Analyst at ICIC recently wrote a blog called “Newark’s Data-Driven Approach to Leveraging Its Anchor Assets” which summarizes key findings from a report ICIC just released. This report, Creating an Anchored Local Economy in Newark: Recommendations for Implementing a Comprehensive Local Procurement Strategy, highlights findings from a comprehensive study of anchor procurement in Newark, NJ supported by the Prudential Foundation. The study analyzed the size and nature of local anchor procurement opportunities.
