Arthur Vining Davis Foundations Invites Proposals for Private Higher Education Program Grants
The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations’ support for private colleges and universities is grounded in its conviction that an educated society strengthens democracy through principled, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership.
To that end, the foundations’ Private Higher Education program supports leadership development for faculty, students, and senior leaders; interfaith literacy and leadership; environmental stewardship and sustainability; student and faculty inquiry, including faculty development and support for student-faculty undergraduate research; and diversity, inclusion, and support for underserved constituencies.
All private, four-year residential colleges and universities are eligible to apply. Those institutions undergoing a presidential transition must wait to submit a proposal until the new president has been in office for a year.
Private higher education institutions may request planning grants that range between $25,000 and $100,000, or comprehensive grants of up to $300,000.
See the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations Web site for complete program guidelines, an FAQ and a list of recently awarded grants, and application instructions.
Deadline: November 1, 2018
