Private Higher Education Program Grants
Posted by Arthur Vining Davis Foundation on January 5, 2018
The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations’ support for private colleges and universities is grounded in the conviction that, through principled, thoughtful and compassionate leadership, an educated society strengthens democracy.
To that end, the foundations’ Private Higher Education program supports leadership development activities for faculty, students, and senior leaders; interfaith literacy for students and faculty; environmental stewardship and sustainability research; student and faculty inquiry, including faculty development and support for undergraduate student–faculty research; and diversity, inclusion, and support for underserved student populations.
All private four-year residential colleges and universities are eligible to apply. Those institutions undergoing a presidential transition must wait to submit a proposal until the new president has been in office for a year.
Institutions may request planning grants ranging between $25,000 and $100,000, or comprehensive grants of up to $300,000.
Letters of Inquiry must be received between January 8, 2018 and February 16, 2018. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by March 1, 2018.
See the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations website for complete program guidelines, FAQs, a list of recently awarded grants, and application instructions.
