Posted by Arcadia University on April 23, 2024
USTRIVE (Understanding STEM Teaching through Integrated Contexts in Everyday Life) is a two year program that seeks to foster STEM knowledge and literacy through the use of a social justice STEM framework (SJSP) focusing on socio-scientific issues (SSI). “Scientific literacy entails the ability to make informed decisions, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate varied sources of data and information, use moral reasoning to attend sensibly to ethical issues, and understand the complexity of connections inherent in SSI” (Zeidler, 2014, p. 697).
6th-12th Grade teachers will earn up to $4300 and gain new pedagogical knowledge that connects science literacy and social justice.
