We seek a highly motivated, executive-level fundraiser responsible for creating a principal gift program. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement and supporting senior executives, the Principal Gift Officer is an integral member of the advancement team and will be responsible for managing a portfolio that will consist of up to 20% of the Advancement goal, consisting of up to 100 donors and prospects with a primary focus on those capable of making gifts of greater than $1,000,000.
The Principal Gift Officer will cultivate and manage relationships with new and prospective donors, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors. This position will also support the Executive Office of the President, Provost, Associate Vice President of Development, and Deans across all schools, colleges, and units. This individual will have a priority focus on prospects in the Philadelphia region and the New York metropolitan area.
This person must be a highly energetic, organized, and enthusiastic professional with a track record of building high-level donor relationships and working collaboratively and strategically with demonstrated strong knowledge of the principles, ethics, and practices of successful fundraising.
Requirements:
*Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
*Significant years of higher education/alumni fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing seven- to eight-figure gifts.
*Experience leading a senior fundraising staff.
