Pre-Institute: Global, Civic, DEI Integrated Learning (Special PHENND Discount) – Nov 9

In November, Haverford College is hosting the Community-based Global Learning Collaborative’s Institute on Expanding Understanding of Global Positionality, Responsibility, and Opportunity.
PHENND colleagues are invited to participate in the pre-conference on The Global Solidarity, Local Actions Toolkit. The Toolkit is a collective on-line learning initiative to bring together educators, organizers, and learners who all share a commitment to building more just, inclusive, and sustainable communities in local-global context. Become familiar with the content of the Toolkit and have several concrete examples of how it can be applied. It is relevant for educators and organizers in and beyond the curriculum, holding positions in civic engagement, global engagement, DEI work, and off-campus. Frequently, it has been used as a tool to bring these streams of thought together. Participants will: Work on an individualized application of Toolkit content for participant contexts (workshop, course syllabus, pre-departure orientation, etc.); Connect with others who are committed to building more just, inclusive, and sustainable communities; Gain preliminary understanding of how to facilitate Toolkit content.
