Power Up Gambia Speaker at La Salle
Posted by on February 07, 2011
La Salle University is hosting a Dinner/Dialogue featuring Jen Abraczinskus, an alum, who will be talking about her work with Power Up Gambia (PUG), a non-profit grassroots organization run out of Philadelphia that works to provide solar energy to under-resourced clinics in Gambia on February 17 at 4:30- 6:30 in the Faculty Dining Room in the Union Building. Their mission is “to provide reliable electricity and water to healthcare facilities in Gambia through solar energy”. They’re in the process right now of trying to expand their work to other developing countries as well using the same model. You can learn more at http://www.powerupgambia.org. The dinner is free but there is a $5 donation that goes to Power Up Gambia. For reservations please contact Louise Giugliano at [email protected]
This is a co-sponsored event between the Project on Justice and The Explorer Connection (as part of its Sustainable Development Series).
