I am a community organizer from Wichita, Kansas. Today I went live with my website which I hope to use as a tool to spread the word about community organizing and its viability as a career. One of the more exciting features of my site will be a weekly video podcast featuring campaign stories, and inspiring examples of people reclaiming their dignity and finding empowerment through organizing, as well as a blog where I will share my observations about strategy, the future of our work, as well as occasional examples of the anguish and jubilation which comes from having one of the most interesting jobs in the world.
I hope you will check it out at http://www.jakelowen.com
The first podcast features Aaron Fowler, Executive Director of Hope Street Youth Development sharing a story of one middle school student finding his voice and speaking up to change public schools.
Please drop me an email or comment on the site with your feedback!
Thanks,
Jake Lowen
