Podcast Producer (Remote) — Criminal Justice Reform & Storytelling
Posted by Reuniting Family Bail Fund on November 11, 2025
Location: Remote (Montgomery County or Philadelphia based strongly preferred)
Type: Part-Time/Contract
About Us:
We are a nonprofit bail fund organization working to end the criminalization of poverty and promote community-based alternatives to incarceration. Through advocacy, direct support, and storytelling, we fight for a fairer and more humane justice system.
Our Purely Speculation podcast — a criminal justice reform podcast — will bring together voices from across the movement: directly impacted people, advocates, organizers, and policy leaders. Each episode will highlight real stories and meaningful conversations about what justice looks like — and how we can build it together.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled Podcast Producer to bring this project to life. The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a technician — someone who can manage the creative process from concept to final mix, ensuring that every episode is powerful, polished, and true to our mission. This position is primarily remote, with occasional virtual team meetings and interviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the host(s) and communications team to shape each episode’s concept, tone, and structure.
- Manage the production process: scheduling, recording (remote), editing, and post-production.
- Edit and mix episodes for clarity, pacing, and emotional impact using professional audio tools (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, Hindenburg, or Pro Tools).
- Maintain production timelines and publishing schedules.
- Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s values, messaging, and community-centered approach.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of podcast or audio production experience, preferably with interview- or story-based formats.
- Strong technical editing and sound design skills.
- Excellent project management and communication abilities.
- Experience working collaboratively in remote environments.
- Deep interest in or familiarity with criminal justice reform, social equity, or nonprofit storytelling.
- Commitment to ethical storytelling and amplifying underrepresented voices.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience producing for nonprofits, advocacy campaigns, or social impact organizations.
- Comfort editing across different audio formats (interviews, narration, soundscapes, etc.).
- Familiarity with podcast analytics, promotion, and distribution platforms (Spotify for Podcasters, Apple Podcasts, etc.).
To Apply: Please send your resume, a short cover letter describing your interest in this role and connection to the mission, and 1–2 samples of audio work (or links to produced episodes) to reunitingfamiliesmontco@gmail.com.
