Place Matters: Higher Education and Community Development

Registration is now open for PACC’s Spring Conference “Place Matters:  Higher Education and Community Development” to be held March 31 – April 1, 2011 at the Hotel Carlisle in Carlisle, PA .

Who Should Attend:  This conference will focus on the impact of civic engagement in higher education within their communities for civic engagement professionals, faculty, government relations administrators, and nonprofit organizations focused on community development.

Call for Proposals:  If you are interested in presenting, you may submit proposals for individual presentations or workshops that address at least one of the broad areas described in the attached call for proposals.  Please see the call for proposals for details on submitting a presentation proposal.  Deadline to submit proposals is February 25th.

Registration:  Registration is now open.  Conference registration for Campus Compact members is $125/per person and Non-Campus Compact members is $150/per person.  PACC will offer a one day registration rate.  The one day rate for Campus Compact members is $70/per person and Non-Campus Compact members is $100/per person.    Registration includes meals, breaks, and conference materials.  Please follow this link to register for the conference https://www.elbowspace.com/servlets/cfd?xr4=&formts=2011-01-26 18:07:16.527130.  Registration deadline is March 11, 2011.

Hotel Information:  Registrants are responsible for reserving and paying for their own hotel reservations.  PACC has reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Carlisle at the rate of $75 (plus taxes) per room/night.  Call 1-800-692-7315 to make your reservations.  In order to receive the $75 room rate you must call in to make your reservations.  Online reservations will not receive the conference rate.  Also, make sure that you mention you are attending the PA Campus Compact Conference to receive the conference rate.  The hotel will be releasing our block of rooms on March 15, 2011.  The conference rate and room availability will not be guaranteed after March 15th.
