Brett Mandel of Philadelphia Forward and Sharon Ward of One Philadelphia will present two very different views on the bill recently passed by City Council. What will help Philadelphia the most? Do we need to preserve taxes that help pay for essential city services? Or is too high taxation driving away jobs and businesses?
Brett Mandel says that Philadelphia?s taxes have contributed to the loss of: 250,000 city jobs since 1970.
?Lower business taxes guarantee only one thing: fewer city services,? says Sharon Ward.
What?s fair for a small business? A big business? The average taxpayer? Should Mayor Street veto or accept the Council?s decision? What would you tell him?
