Phreedom Dreaming: Transforming Justice Through Art – Feb 11
Posted by Racial Justice Organizing Committee on February 9, 2021
Racial Justice Organizing Committee is partnering with POPPYN for this “Restorative Justice” event that will feature a panel discussion around film clips from two of POPPYN’s youth-produced documentaries. We will highlight the connection between funding for policing and punitive programs and the lack of funding for arts, counseling and rehabilitation. We will present our vision for safe schools that practice restorative justice and promote and celebrate the creative expression of our powerful and inspirational students. We hope that this event is the beginning of a relationship between youth, parents, professional experts, educators, and policy makers so we can achieve the change we all know we need.
Date and Time: Thursday, February 11, 5:30pm
This event will stream live on all of these platforms:
- Facebook: Black Lives Matter Week of Action – Philly
- YouTube: POPPYN
- Instagram: Philadelphia Student Union
This event will feature members of organizations such as:
