PhillyGoes2College Summer FAFSA Project Manager and Coach

Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on June 18, 2024

Organizational Background:

Founded in 1985, for more than 30 years, the Philadelphia Education Fund (PEF) has been opening pathways to college and career success for Philadelphia students.  We offer students, educators, and school districts a diverse portfolio of programs to support equitable access to postsecondary opportunities for students attending under-resourced schools.  Current programming targets Philadelphia public school students from middle grades through college completion.

Each year, PEF serves approximately 4,000 students and 1,200 educators through offerings which include our College Access Program, Philadelphia Scholars Last Dollar Scholarship, Philadelphia Postsecondary Success Program, PhillyGoes2College online portal, Spark Philadelphia, Foster and the McKinney Center for STEM Education.

PhillyGoes2College.org, powered by The Philadelphia Education Fund, is your source for information on planning, applying, and paying for college. From our calendar of local college admissions events, our directory of Philadelphia-area college access opportunities, and our comprehensive scholarship bank, PG2C is here to help you make your mark.

Project Background:

In response to the current FAFSA challenges, PhillyGoes2College is launching a Summer FAFSA Completion initiative as funded by The U.S. Department of Education’s emergency FAFSA Student Support Strategy. The FAFSA Student Support Strategy aims to continue increasing the number of high school students who complete a 2024-25 FAFSA and enroll in college, particularly first-time college students and students of color.

The PhillyGoes2College Summer FAFSA Completion initiative will consist of an awareness-building campaign and intrusive FAFSA completion support. The Summer FAFSA Project Manager and Coach will work alongside PhillyGoes2College staff to lead project design, campaign and content development, targeted outreach efforts, and live FAFSA coaching sessions. A Social Media Manager will be a part of the PhillyGoes2College Summer FAFSA Completion initiative to lead efforts around a messaging campaign.
