LOVE our city, TEACH our children.

Become a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia.

No experience or coursework in education is required.

Do you know someone that works or volunteers for your community organization that would make an excellent teacher in Philadelphia?s public schools?

The Philadelphia Teaching Fellows are looking for individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences interested in joining the movement to bring teaching excellence and student achievement to new heights in the School District of Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Teaching Fellows is a unique initiative of the School District of Philadelphia to recruit, select and train outstanding midcareer professionals and recent college graduates to become teachers in the schools in our community that need them the most. Fellows will teach while attending classes to earn their teaching certification. We are currently accepting applications for our 2008 Winter program, and interviews are limited.

The Philadelphia Teaching Fellows offers exceptional, high-achieving individuals the opportunity to engage in socially meaningful work while playing a critically important role in eliminating inequities in education. As a Fellow, you will receive valuable training grounded in research-based strategies proven to be effective in working with high-need students.
