Job Opportunity- Outstanding Professionals & Recent Graduates
The Philadelphia Teaching Fellows is recruiting individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences interested in joining the movement to bring teaching excellence and student achievement to new heights in the School District of Philadelphia. Fellows teach in high-need schools and earn a full-time salary while attending classes to earn their teaching certification. We seek to attract a broad group of candidates to meet the District’s critical need areas including math, science, Spanish, vocal music, and special education (in the content areas of English, math, science, and social studies).
Our next cohort of Fellows will attend pre-service training in the summer of 2009 and begin teaching next fall. Our early application deadline is January 12th, 2009. For more information about our program and to apply online, go to our website at http://www.philadelphiateachingfellows.org.
To be eligible for our program, you must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0, an academic background in a field outside of education, US citizenship or permanent resident status, and passing Praxis II scores in your content area.
