Philadelphia Teaching Fellows
Posted by on November 27, 2011
As a leader in the local community, you know that the need for dedicated educators in our city’s schools is real.
How can you help ensure that every student in Philadelphia has a committed and passionate teacher? Take three minutes to forward this email to three potential candidates.
Last year, 25% of our applications came directly from referrals – PTF teachers, principals, family and friends spreading the word about our program. Philadelphia’s students need your help in recruiting devoted and talented teachers.
I am certain that you know other outstanding professionals, community members, and recent college graduates who are looking for an opportunity to make a difference by teaching in our city’s highest need schools.
As you know, Philadelphia Teaching Fellows is a highly-selective, innovative path for talented mid-career professionals and recent college graduates to close the achievement gap in Philadelphia.
Beginning today, candidates may visit http://www.PhiladelphiaTeachingFellows.org to apply for our Summer 2012 Program. Our early application deadline is December 27, 2011.
We encourage candidates to apply early, as we invite outstanding candidates to interview and join the program on a rolling basis.
This is a critical time for Philadelphia and a potential watershed moment for public education in the United States. We have a historic opportunity to transform one of the nation’s lowest performing school systems, but that transformation will not be possible without accomplished, goal-oriented and devoted educators.
I know that you share my excitement in bringing this next cohort of Philadelphia Teaching Fellows into our city’s schools, continuing a commitment to impacting the academic achievement of the students in our community. Thank you, in advance, for sharing this opportunity with potential applicants.
Best,
Mark Jeong
