Launch of Philadelphia School Partnership announced
Philadelphia’s public education system has improved reading and math performance for eight straight years and graduation rates are on the rise. The city’s charter school system includes impressive national models. And Philadelphia’s private parochial schools boast strong academic performance.
Although there is good news in Philadelphia education, there is still much work to do.
City education leaders and practitioners, business leaders and philanthropists, and government officials will launch the Philadelphia School Partnership on Thursday, October 7th from 10-11:30am in the Kirby Room at the National Constitution Center, 6th and Arch Streets. At the event, the group will lay out the Philadelphia School Partnership’s strategy and engage in a discussion about what needs to be done to make Philadelphia first in educational achievement among major American cities by 2015.
Space is limited. To RSVP, email Rachel Meadows by October 1st at rachel.meadows@philaschool.org.
