Philadelphia On Your Feet Project
Posted by on February 13, 2004
On Your Feet Project (OYFP), a national 501(c)(3)-recognized nonprofit organization, is launching a chapter in Philadelphia. OYFP is entirely volunteer-run, and currently has chapters in New York and San Francisco. In these cities, OYFP builds partnerships with other nonprofit organizations and sponsors events on their behalf. These programs generate public awareness for the partner organizations, while also providing a way for young people to learn about the causes that partner organizations support and to get involved in the community. For example, in 2003, OYFP ran 17 events, including art and photography shows, concerts, film screenings, and comedy jams, benefiting nine nonprofit organizations, such as Direct Relief International, HELP USA, and the Urban Justice Center.
I am looking for people who would like to get involved with OYFP Philadelphia in any way, from being a part of the leadership of the organization, to helping to plan events, to just attending events. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to make a difference in the community while meeting other like-minded individuals, please contact Jessica Merlin at [email protected]. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in getting involved, feel free to forward this message. For further information about the organization, feel free to visit our website at http://www.onyourfeetproject.org.
