To formally celebrate National AmeriCorps Week, a rally will be held from 8:00 – 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 14 at the Winchester Recreation Center, located at 2332 North 15th Street, between Dauphin and York Streets in North Philadelphia. The rally will acknowledge and celebrate the impact of AmeriCorps members within Philadelphia. Following the rally, 100 service opportunities will be available for AmeriCorps members and friends. In the coming days, you will receive specific information about each service project and instructions on how you can register your team of AmeriCorps members to volunteer. Philadelphia AmeriCorps Week Job Panel – Monday, May 11, 5:00 – 7:00 PM
An AmeriCorps Week Job Panel will be an opportunity for prospective AmeriCorps members to learn about
AmeriCorps National, State, and VISTA. Attendees will be briefed on each program and there will be a Q & A
portion with a panel of 5-7 current corps members from each program. We will have a list of approximately 10 questions to initiate discussion. Panelists will address both the professional and personal changes they’ve experienced as a result of their term of service. We will reach out for participants through public schools, colleges, and online community posting boards. In addition, we will advertise this as a networking opportunity through AmeriCorps program directors. The Panel will take place at the Philadelphia City Institute (PCI) branch of The Free Library at 19th & Locust Streets. Directors interested in attending should RSVP to Jenn Rineer at jrineer@phillyfellows.org or (215) 609-4659.

AmeriCorps Week Social Happy Hour – Wednesday, May 13, 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Current AmeriCorps members and alumni are encouraged to come out and celebrate the impact of their service with snacks and cocktails. This informal social event will give current AmeriCorps members and alumni the opportunity to network and share their experiences with one another. Members must be 21 or older to attend. The Happy Hour will take place at Noche, located at 19th & Chestnut Streets.
