PCA celebrates Milestones with education event
Philadelphia Corporation for Aging will present a Senior Education Fair on Saturday, October 22nd to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Milestones newspaper.
Eight informative sessions will be led by experts in topics relevant to older adults, including money management, Philadelphia history and fraud prevention. Dr. Andrew Newberg, a pioneer in studies of the brain, will present Maintain a Healthy Brain. Milestones food columnist Gerald Etter will share tips and recipes to cook creative, low-cost meals for one.
The fair will be held from 1pm to 4pm at PCA, 642 N. Broad Street. Preregistration is required by September 30th. Admission costs just $2, and includes up to three sessions plus a healthy snack. Preceding the fair, from 9am to 2pm, a free outdoor flea market will be held in the adjacent parking lot at Broad and North Streets. Proceeds from the flea market will benefit PCA’s Emergency Fund for Older Philadelphians.
