Philadelphia Cares About Fairmount Park Day 2006
Public parks represent over 10% of Philadelphia’s land. There are 62 parks in the city’s park system and each one of them is essential to maintaining a healthy environment for generations to come. Join Greater Philadelphia Cares on Saturday, May 20, 2006 for Philadelphia Cares about Fairmount Park Day.
In partnership with The Fairmount Park Commission, Greater Philadelphia Cares will mobilize volunteers to participate in activities such as gardening, planting trees, cleaning playgrounds, and repairing trails. From small community playgrounds to large major parks, we will leave no stone unturned. All projects are from 9:00 am – noon. Form a team or sign up as an individual to take part in this important day.
