Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Kickoff for teachers of color – Oct 24

Posted by Teach Plus on October 15, 2024

As we continue to create inclusive, supportive school environments, it’s essential to show our teachers of color that they are valued and supported. We invite you to take a step toward this by encouraging teachers of color in your professional and personal networks to join the Philadelphia Affinity Group Network (PAGN) and attend our Network Kickoff on Thursday, October 24th, at 4:30 pm at Pan American Academy Charter School.

Why Attend?

Empowerment and Support: PAGN provides spaces specifically designed for teachers of color in the School District of Philadelphia and Philadelphia charters to share experiences, collaborate, and receive peer support.

Professional Growth: By joining an affinity group, teachers receive ACT 48 credits and a network of like-minded educators who are committed to professional growth. Teachers who attend our monthly affinity group meetings may also be eligible to receive a stipend at the end of the program year.

Build Community: These groups offer an opportunity for teachers of color to build relationships with other teachers of color in Philadelphia, gain inspiration, and connect in spaces that center their unique experiences.

Call to Action

We strongly encourage you to personally invite teachers of color in your networks to attend the PAGN Kickoff (entitled “For Us, By Us”) and join an affinity group. This event will be key to ensuring they feel supported and empowered in their professional journey.
